  1. Short: Use Zyxel's voice features w/ GUI

  5. This is version 1.19 of ZVM, a voice module that
  6. allows one to use a Zyxel modem as an answering
  7. machine.  It can also communicate with GPFax 2.21
  8. or greater when there is a fax, allowing it to
  9. also act as a fax machine, automatically.  You can
  10. retrieve messages from the outside too.
  11.  
  12. Some of the new features are:
  13.  
  14. - More arexx functions.  You can now program the
  15. way ZVM handles incoming calls, silent answer,
  16. and faxes using the 35+ arexx functions.  You can
  17. even make your own multi-mailbox voicemail program
  18. with the functions that are provided, send arexx
  19. messages (perhaps to turn on your lights, flush
  20. the toilet -- required hardware not included) to
  21. other programs when certain DTMF keys are pressed,
  22. etc.
  23. - Silent answer feature (ZVM will answer the phone
  24. even if you answer it from another line.  It will
  25. listen for fax tones or a key press from you
  26. - Better GUI for playing back messages
  27. - Convert iff files to zvm files
  28. - Fixed more bugs
  29. - Close serial port
  30. - Has an icon and can be run from the Workbench
  31. - Convert incoming voice files to IFF files
  32. - Archive feature lets you save important incoming
  33. messages
  34. - Record Conversation feature lets you record
  35. your current conversation
  36. - Smaller windows

  38. This is a major upgrade to 1.6.  The program is
  39. much more programmable now.
